The moment you sit down, your butt muscles go to sleep.

Think about it, how does your body feel when you wake up in the morning? Do you feel ready to jump out of bed and twirl toward the shower?

Typically we need to move and stretch gently as we ease into our day. Just like a cat when it wakes from a nap.

When your body is in one position for a long period of time, your fascia likes to support you in that shape. Fascia, by the way, is a fibrous net of collagen and elastin that runs throughout your entire body. 

The fascia essentially stiffens around the body in any repeated motion or posture that you frequent.

Ever notice how pianists tend to have a forward head and often a hunched posture? It’s because they spend so many hours looking at tiny notes on a sheet of paper while their arms are going to town on the keys.

When we sit, the muscles and fascia in the back of our pelvis get stiff and need a little blood flow.

Today I give you pinky ball release for the back of the pelvis that will give your backside a nice tune-up. This is great to do if you’ve spent a long time sitting, or right before a butt or leg workout.
